In their own words:

Our Lady of the Roses and the Catholic clergy

"Pastors, do you reject the Message from Heaven because you fear it? Or do you prefer to ignore it because it will expose your error?" - Our Lady of the Roses, October 6, 1975

Fr. Henryk Kaminski:

"I do not have the least doubt about Our Lady's apparitions at Bayside and the true situation of the Church in our times." (Father Henryk Kaminski, Poland, 1991)

Msgr. James King:

At 7:30 p.m. on the evening of November 7, 1984, Boston channel 5 aired a documentary on Bayside on the TV program, "The Chronicle".  Msgr. King, one of the priest appointed to ‘investigate’ the apparitions for the Diocese of Brooklyn, admitted that he did not talk to Veronica until after the ‘investigation’ on this TV show.

Fr. Michael M. Burke

Fr. Michael M. Burke, priest in the city of Corpus Christi, Texas, on January 23, 1988 wrote, "Actually I challenge that statement of the Brooklyn Chancery Office because a properly conducted investigation has never taken place. To verify this, let Fr. Dietzen try to get a transcript of the so-called investigation to discover why the statements of Mrs. Lueken should be condemned."

Father Herman:

"I am convinced that many a special blessing for the world emanates from Bayside." (Father Herman, Prior of the Benedictine Mission House in Schuyler, Nebraska, April 20, 1989)

Fr. Robert Skurla

Fr. Robert Skurla (at one time the International Chaplain of the Blue Army) delivered a sermon on Palm Sunday, April 4, 1982 in St. Peter's Cathedral, Scranton, Pennsylvania. He stated: “The messages of Bayside restored my confidence in the Catholic Church once more. I will stake my reputation, if that means anything, on the doctrine contained in the messages. The doctrine is the same as I was trained in over the years.”

Msgr. Otto Garcia

Msgr. Otto Garcia, Chancellor for the Diocese of Brooklyn, has stated: "If the amount of cures that are claimed were true, Lourdes and Fatima are nothing, compared to Bayside." In spite of this statement, the Diocese of Brooklyn has refused repeated offers to personally inspect Our Lady of the Roses Shrine archives, and the thousands of testimonials that have been recorded over the years.

Fr. Bernard Nunes, O.C.D.

A priest from India, Fr. Bernard Nunes, O.C.D. writes:

"Firstly, is it possible to have an official inquiry conducted into a reported apparition and arrive at a conclusion without a close and careful interrogation of the seer of the apparitions? In the matter of inquiry into a private revelation or apparition, we are aware--as remarked in the Foreward--how much weight of the investigation the Church throws on the interrogation of the seer, even before scrutinising the reported messages or the evidence of miracles. Strange as it may seem, this basic factor has been brushed aside with regard to the Bayside Apparitions. From Veronica's own affirmation we have it, that not once was she ever summoned for interrogation by the investigating Committee; and for that matter in the five years since the beginning of the apparitions, never was she summoned for cross-questioning either by the clergy of the parish or by her bishop, though, on her part, she has never failed to make the approach. With such a basic flaw in the official inquiry, does the conclusion of the so-called investigation not leave one groggy with disbelief? . . . .
"These touching appeals of the Mother of God, run like a golden thread all through the Messages. One discovers in them the last desperate efforts of a Mother striving to save Her children from their own folly, pointing out to them a sure way of salvation and preparing them for the great trials ahead…

“The salutary impact the Bayside Messages are having on those who have been perusing them with an open mind and sincere heart; the beneficial effects the night vigils of prayer are producing in the hearts of those who participate in them with devotion and in a spirit of penance; the cures of soul and of body effected at the apparition site or through the sacramentals blessed there by Heaven; the miraculous pictures shot by cameras that were blessed by Our Lady to purify and guard them against satan—all these, and each of them, are Heaven's signs and evidence of miracles, witnessing to the truth of the Bayside apparitions and messages. This witness is superior to that of men and their objections and claims, for the divine intervention can with difficulty be doubted or misinterpreted without violating the rules of human testimony. A true miracle, in the Christian sense, is not a barren marvel or a meaningless magical display. It is a sign or an exception that is ordained by God in the order of nature to turn men's eyes toward their salvation: It is a marvel or a mystery which defies all human explanations, and for which science has no answer. The investigators must make a sincere attempt to dispel the mystery; yet they will have to bow and salute it, if the facts compel them.”

Fr. Malachi Martin:

Mario Aguero, a friend of the late Fr. Malachi Martin, had lunch with Father in a Manhattan restaurant in the summer of 1998, less than a year before he died, when the topic of Marian apparitions came up. Mario asked Fr. Malachi Martin his opinion on the Bayside apparitions. Although he expressed to Mario his disbelief with other major and more popular alleged apparitions, this Vatican insider and advisor to three Popes stated, “I believe that Bayside is a true apparition. For many years I did not believe that Bayside was legitimate but certain circumstances now have led me to believe that in fact it is a true apparition.”

Cardinal Medeiros of Boston

In 1979, Cardinal Medeiros of Boston and his secretary Fr. Oliveira received a book and audio tapes for review containing Our Lady of the Roses message. In an April 24, 1990 taped interview with the woman who passed Our Lady’s message on to the Cardinal and Fr. Oliveira, she repeated what she had been told: “Fr. Oliveira, said to me, ‘I did not know exactly how to advise you on this matter. I told you before the Church acts very prudent, and rightfully so on these types of events. And after reading the book and listening to the messages on tape, I could not find any heresy in them.’ Then to my surprise he said, ‘I gave the Blue Book and these tapes of the messages to Cardinal Medeiros to read and listen.’… Fr. Oliveira told me, he told the Cardinal, that he could not find any heresy, and he replied, nor could he. And that on all matters of the Catholic Faith discussed in the book, and also given on the taped messages, they were free from error.”

Cardinal Bevilacqua

In 1982, Cardinal Bevilacqua stated, "If that [Bayside] is authentic, we're in two different churches." ("Our Sunday Visitor," August 8, 1982)

Cardinal Bevilacqua, as a Monsignor and chancellor for the diocese of Brooklyn stated, "She's [Veronica] not saying anything directly contrary to the faith. . . ." ("Boston Herald American," December 27, 1978).

Fr. John Hardon

In 1991, Fr. John Hardon told a group of nuns in Connecticut that Our Lady of the Roses apparitions passed every test for a true apparition, as outlined in The Graces of Interior Prayer (by Augustin Francois Poulain, S.J.).

“One day, My child, the waters will come up at Bayside, and I will appear over the old church building.  Your Bishop then cannot deny My appearances.”- Our Lady of the Roses, May 17, 1986
