Associated Press reported on September 17, 2007:

Chilling Soviet plans to launch massive nuclear strikes in Europe followed by a ground offensive in Germany and southern France have been unearthed by a Nato historian.

According to scenarios drafted in 1964, Warsaw Pact forces planned to use 131 tactical nuclear missiles and bombs to sideline NATO armaments and destroy Western Europe’s political and communications centres, in the event of an “imperialist” strike.

In an alarming insight into the “Doctor Strangelove” mindset of Soviet strategists, the Czechoslovak People’s Army, CSLA, was then expected to immediately march over deadly radioactive landscape and invade Nuremburg, Stuttgart and Munich, then bastions of West Germany.

On the ninth day the troops would take Lyon, south eastern France.

Soviet reinforcements would then continue the offensive towards the Pyrenees in the west.

Historian Petr Lunak from NATO’s information office in Brussels, found the 17-page Warsaw Pact plan while sifting through declassified communist-era documents in Prague’s military archives.

“Russians outlined the general (war) plan, while the (leaders of) individual Warsaw Pact armies prepared precise military blueprints, with details on front lines, deployment of troops and arms,” said Mr Lunak.

The text, written in Russian and entitled CSLA Plan of Action for a War Period, was signed by the Czech defence minister of the time and carried president Antonin Novotny’s stamp of approval.

According to Mr Lunak, the plan was still an option until 1986, three years before the fall of the Berlin Wall.

It was shelved by Vaclav Havel in 1990 when he was elected Czech president.

While most Western planners were convinced that any first strike would lead to total mutual destruction, the plan - written in matter-of-fact language - shows that Warsaw Pact nations presumed a massive ground war would follow nuclear attacks.

Mr Lunak described the military plans as “fairy tale” thinking based on World War II warfare: “They (the Soviets) really planned to send ground troops out in the field and have them fight for a few days until they died from radiation,” he said.

The final draft of the invasion plan was completed under Soviet Communist Party chief Nikita Khrushchev, shortly after the 1961 Cuban missile crisis, when the United States and the Soviet Union had teetered on the brink of war.

According to the Prague documents, Moscow’s commanders fully expected western “imperialists” to make the first nuclear strike.

Mr Lunak includes the plans, as well as interviews with Czech generals of the time in his book, Planning the Unthinkable: Czechoslovak War Plans, 1950-1990.

The first English translation of the text was published earlier this month by the Parallel History Project on Cooperative Security, which analyses and publishes declassified NATO and Warsaw Pact archives.

Vojtech Mastny, a senior fellow at the National Security Archive in Washington, D.C., who coordinates the project, said the 1964 document is the first such detailed war plan to come to light. “There’s no doubt that the plan would have been used if the green light was given from above - the political leadership of the communist bloc,” he said.

The “conversion of Russia”: what does it really mean?
 

"Unless the bishops and the Holy Father in unity with all the bishops of the world, unless they consecrate Russia to My Mother's Immaculate Heart, the world will be doomed! Because Russia will continue to spread her errors throughout the world, rising up wars and carnage and pestilence and famine. Is this what you want, My children?
     "Every single soul upon earth that hears My voice this evening has an obligation, for the sanctification of their own souls and the souls of those they love, to listen to Me and follow the direction. I wish that all who hear My words this evening will go forward and besiege, if necessary, the Holy Father and the bishops with a request for this consecration of Russia. We do not mean the world, My children, We mean Russia!" - Jesus, June 17, 1989

In 1917, Our Lady of Fatima said, “In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to Me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world.”

Victor Khroul (director of the Information Center of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Russia) says that the conversion of Russia has nothing to do with being or not being Catholic.  A Zenit article on February 16, 2005, reports:

Khroul, who is also editor of the Catholic weekly Svet Evangelia, said that when one speaks of "the conversion of Russia" one must understand that it means "the passing from non-belief to the Christian faith," and must not be confused with being or not being Catholic. 

 

The true meaning of "conversion" 

Now let’s hear from one of the greatest of all Fatima experts, Fr. Joaquin Alonso (the official archivist of Fatima), who had talked with Sister Lucy many times: 

"the 'conversion' of Russia is not to be limited to the return of the Russian people to the Orthodox Christian religions, rejecting the Marxist atheism of the Soviets, but rather, it refers purely, plainly and simply to the total, integral conversion of Russia to the one true Church of Christ, the Catholic Church." 

There is only one true Christian Church that dates back to Christ, founded on St. Peter, and promised by Christ that the gates of hell would not prevail against it.  That Church is the Roman Catholic Church.  All other Christian religions are separated from the authority of the Vicar of Christ (the Pope), and espouse various heresies contrary to the teachings of Christ.  All other Christian religions were founded by merely sinful men; they were not founded by Christ Himself.  

Pope Pius XI clearly stated:

"For if, as they continually state, they long to be united with Us and ours, why do they not hasten to enter the Church, the Mother and mistress of all Christ's faithful?" (Pope Pius XI, encyclical Mortalium animos, January 6, 1928)

 Also, Pope Pius XII warned about ambiguous words regarding union with the one true Church, the Roman Catholic Church:

“The Catholic doctrine will have to be proposed and expressed totally and integrally: what the Catholic Church teaches about the true nature and means of justification, about the constitution of the Church, about the primacy of the jurisdiction of the Roman Pontiff, about the only true union which is accomplished with the return of the dissidents to the only true Church of Christ, must not be passed over in silence or covered over in ambiguous words.”  (Pope Pius XII, “On the Ecumenical Movement,” December 20, 1949)

 

Russia is far from conversion

Bishop Werth (the Catholic Bishop of Siberia) has warned of a "‘new wave of persecution’ against the Catholic Church in the [Russian] federation…." and reminds us that "only 1% of Russian Orthodox go to church."

In Russia today there are two abortions for every live birth.

In April 1993, Boris Yeltsin allowed homosexuality to be decriminalized. Homosexuality is now "legal" in Russia.

Under Russia's 1997 law on ‘freedom of conscience' the Catholic Church is barely allowed to exist, and is legally forbidden to make converts among the Orthodox and other religious groups.

Associated Press reported on August 9, 2001, "Russia has turned into a world trash bin of child pornography." ("Activist Says Child Porn Prosecutions Will be Difficult in Indonesia, Russia," Christine Brummitt, Associated Press, Aug. 9, 2001)

Presently, there are less Catholics in all of Russia than in the scandal-plagued Archdiocese of Boston.

There has been no conversion of Russia back to the one true Faith, nor to a practice of the Ten Commandments.
