Personal Testimonies #203 -

1981
Dear Veronica,
I must write and thank you for the rose petals and
leaflets about Our Lady of the Roses. My cousin Anne was with me when I received
them, and she has very high blood pressure with severe headaches. She blessed
her head with the petal and hasn't had a headache since.
Yours sincerely,
from Belfast, Northern
Ireland
Dear Veronica,
I am a sinner who was away from the Church and God for more years than I can
remember.
My mother prayed and made novenas. She also had to pray
for me through two heart surgeries and three strokes. I should have been dead
with the second surgery. God did not give up on me and neither did my mother and
the Holy Mother.
It still took many years more, and many prayers. I am
back with the Faith, Jesus and His Church. I used to pray: Now I lay me down to
sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to take, as that was how useless I felt. I kept
asking: why am I alive? I know why I am alive now. With my condition I am not
useless as I can pray for others and the souls in purgatory. There is peace
within me and I am happy even though I know through the messages what is going
to happen in the end.
I regret not returning to God sooner as I could have
done a lot more praying, and could have read some of the Bible.
I thank God each day for letting me have another day to
get to church, receive Holy Communion, say the Stations of the Cross, and do my
Rosaries.
Jesus falls the third time is the one I stay at a long
time, so as never to forget Jesus is there always, just come back to Him. Jesus
and our Holy Mother watch over us, I ask many times, and I am able to climb the
church stairs, do the Stations of the Cross, come to the Vigils, and lately the
Holy Hour.
I wanted you to know how much your prayers and the
prayers of our sisters and brothers have done for me, once all the prayers got
me back to God.
M.C.
Dear Veronica,
Since we have been reading the messages, my family has
started saying the rosary every night. Today we went to church for the first
time in at least 20 years.
Please pray for us! We need your prayers very much.
God bless you!
With love,
from Plaquemine, Louisiana

Dear Veronica,
I had a hiatal hernia, and was sick every day with it,
so I placed my medal of Our Lady of the Roses over it. The next day, and every
day since, I have not had any sign of sickness, thanks to our dear Lady of the
Roses, Mary Help of Mothers.
God bless you, Veronica, and I hope your burden will
not be too heavy.
Sincerely,
from North Bellmore, Long Island, New York
Dear Veronica,
On June 21, 1981, my brother, age 36, was found in a
deep coma due to an overdose of drugs. It was about 6:30 p.m. when he was
brought to the hospital emergency room in Manhattan. From there he was sent to
the special care unit where he was treated immediately by doctors. He was in a
very deep, deep coma and was allowed immediate family visits for every five
minutes on the hour.
On Monday a dear friend of the family gave me a rose
petal from Our Lady of the Roses Shrine. On Tuesday morning my brother was still
in a deep coma. I visited him for five minutes and touched the rose petal to his
forehead, cheek and right arm. The following afternoon doctors said there was a
slight improvement. That was Wednesday, June 23, 1981, he awoke in the
afternoon. I attribute this miracle to the rose petal from the Shrine of Our
Lady of the Roses.
Many thanks to Our Lady of the Roses!
from New York City, New York
Dear Veronica,
My life has changed so much since my first visit to the
Shrine grounds on Feb. 1st, 1974.
My love for Our Blessed Mother has increased a
hundredfold. There have been many conversions in our family (my sisters and
their husbands, through petitions to Our Lady of the Roses, help of Mothers).
I, along with E.K. from the Hartford, CT area, have
gotten several busloads of people to come to the holy Shrine, rather I should
say Our Lady did, using us as her instruments.
Since reading and hearing the messages at Bayside, I
have begun teaching catechism to 5th grade children.
Our church had been asking for CCD teachers, and I told
them I would gladly teach, but every Sunday, they would continue to ask for
teachers, ignoring me!
Finally, after reminding them several times, I told
Sister, "Maybe you don't want me to teach because I am the only one in the
church that kneels to receive Our Lord Jesus in Communion!"
Well, within ten minutes I received a call on the
telephone that a 5th grade teacher was needed! I was thrilled.
These little ones did not know the Ten Commandments of
God nor did they know many prayers!
With Our Lady and Jesus in my heart I hope to teach
them about God to help make Him their friend, to talk to Him all day long and to
obey His Commandments.
If it is possible, also, I would like to have copies of
all the messages received at Bayside since the first.
Sincerely yours thru Jesus and Mary,
from Hartford, Connecticut

Dear Veronica,
In a previous letter, I had asked you to kindly pray
for R.W. Sr., and Jr., this man's son. I gave a rose petal to his wife.
R.W., a non-Catholic, decided to convert to the Roman Catholic faith. He is
taking instructions and attends Holy Mass on Sundays. The son, suffering from
severe asthma since early childhood (he is 13), has become an altar boy and has
not suffered an attack (sever as they were), ever since his mother had the rose
petal.
In gratitude,
from Merrickville, Ontario, Canada

Dear Veronica,
I'm writing now to ask you for more rose petals and
medals. I went to Bayside in May for the first time, and since that time I've
been trying to spread Our Lady's message, especially in the hospital where I
work as a pediatric nurse. My patients have benefited greatly from these
sacramentals.
Nadine is a beautiful teenager with leukemia who has
been suffering greatly. I put Our Lady's medal under her pillow, and later told
her mom about Bayside and the cures obtained through Our Lady.
One night Nadine could not sleep. I gave her my rosary
from Bayside and told her to say it. Soon she was sitting up in bed asking for
food. She hadn't had much of an appetite in weeks. She is now in remission.
Please continue to pray for her.
I feel so lucky to have seen you, Veronica. My prayers
are with you too.
Gratefully,
C.D.

Dear Veronica,
In December of last year, one of our friends' father
was diagnosed as being seriously ill and he was not expected to live beyond
June. We gave him a blessed rose petal and prayed to our Blessed Mother. He
began to improve, and now he is traveling and doing super (he is in his
mid-eighties). His family can hardly believe it.
Many thanks to Jesus and our Blessed Mother.
Sincerely,
from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Dear Workers of Our Lady,
You asked for details regarding the testimonials I
hinted at in an earlier letter. I'll try to be brief, but thorough.
The two children involved were girls; one seven years
old, the other three.
The older one, my niece, got her hand caught in the
hinged side of a combination door when a large gust of wind slammed the door
shut. One finger was severed and two others badly smashed.
Doctors attempted to sew the severed finger back on
while caring for the others as best they could. The first two weeks would decide
the fate of the finger. After one week the bandages were removed and the
prognosis was not favorable. The doctor said he would wait one more week, but
one was not to expect miracles.
We sent here mother a rose petal and suggested that she
say the rosary. She did it fervently and often during that week. When the
bandages were removed, the doctor and mother were amazed. Everything is fine
now. That young mother is totally convinced that the healing was a direct result
of the rose petal and Our Blessed Lady's intercession.
The three-year old girl had contracted a strange and
quite rare disease. It was one involving the blood, the kidneys, and the liver.
Doctors spent two weeks trying to identify the disease.
Meanwhile, the girl got weaker and weaker. Once it was identified, the outlook
was grim. The doctors tried not to alarm the parents, but were not too hopeful.
My daughter gave the parents a rose petal and suggested rosaries be said. The
parents prayed, but more importantly, they believed!
After a few days, the girl improved, and a week later,
left the hospital with a relatively clean bill of health and good prognosis for
total recovery.
A nurse who had seen several cases of this disease
told the parents that it was usually fatal. Those that had survived always had
to be on a dialysis machine. The nurse felt this cure was truly miraculous.
Needless to say, so do the little girl's parents.
Hope this will suffice. Keep up your good work.
Sincerely,
from Omaha, Nebraska

Dear Veronica,
Thank you so much for all the pamphlets received, and
also the rose petals blessed by Jesus, and the medals of Our Lady of the Roses,
Mary Help of Mothers.
I am writing to let you know that after praying with my
medal, my knees have been cured. I am able to climb steps and high places, which
I found very hard to do without help from someone.
Sincerely in Christ,
from Runa, Zimbabwe, Africa
