Personal Testimonies #82 - 91

Dear Veronica,
At the sight of you at last night’s Vigil, I was moved to the verge of tears. I thought what can a lowly worm like me, so weak, so inadequate do to console you? Nothing more I suppose than to express my love for you in your chosen mission and to give my testimony to you, for your files, fruit borne from your mission.
For approximately 10 years, I was a lapsed Catholic. I took part in almost every conceivable sin including all kinds of sins of the flesh. I started to dabble in drugs during my regular visits to the fleshpots of New York City, where glorification of the body, slander and gossip, envy and contemptousness was our only means of conversing.
In addition to this, I was in psychotherapy for about 10 years with an analyst who not only denied the supernatural but applauded these actions. Indeed, he felt that not only should I abandon the Church and the Sacraments, but that I should rebel against our Holy Faith.
As a result I lapsed into blasphemy, calling (God forgive me!) Our Lord names which are unrepeatable.
Then I happened upon one of the messages. Sounds good, I said to myself. Let me go see what this is all about.
Approximately one year ago, I left with some friends of mine to attend my first Vigil. That night, it seemed we would not make it there. It was raining. The muffler (I believe it was the muffler) fell from the car. I was saying the rosary in the car: God only knows why, as I spurned the Sacraments. My rosary beads broke in my hands and we got lost. Finally, when it seemed like we would have to return on this dark night, we suddenly found the grounds.
Although I felt that these were good people, and even was amazed that such people existed, I was skeptical. In fact, such horrible thoughts of the flesh intruded into my mind, of such monumental and incredibly perverted nature, that I believe if it were not for these good people who held me there, I would have fled the grounds.
Then my battle began. My analyst disapproved of my attending these Vigils and was insistent on this point. Yet the attraction to the grounds remained too great for me, and I had to go against his wishes.
After who knows how many days of this disquiet, or perhaps even weeks, I finally said to myself: if I yield to anyone it will be to the Blessed Mother, but yield I must to stop this disquiet.
So it was that I went to Church, made as sincere as possible a Confession and returned to the Sacraments. The Blessed Mother changed all my friends. In fact, She made me lose these friends who applauded my reprobate life before my first Confession in my conversion.
Do with this letter what you will. As for the grace of Mary, I say to Jesus...Do with me what you will for your greater glory, but only keep your Mother close to me. I cannot make it without Her.

Dear Veronica,
I’ve been coming here to the Shrine for 15 years. Last winter, my father took very sick, and he was totally confused. He kept falling; he had to be restrained in the hospital. I called the Shrine for extra prayers, and I prayed myself for him and asked everyone to pray for him.
Little by little, I could see him getting better. The staff of the hospital had even made plans and helped my mother to get in touch with social workers to put him in a nursing home. But, the doctor did say that sometimes when these patients who acted like my dad got home, they kind of come out of the confusion a little bit.
So, my mom took him home, and my brothers and my sisters--there were quite a few of us in the family--we all took turns staying with him. He was up and down all night, he was totally, totally confused, and they had to get geri-chairs and nurses coming in and everything. And, little by little--it’s just amazing--the geri-chairs are gone, the nurses don’t have to come anymore. He’s 85 years old, and he’s home, and he’s walking on his own--sleeping all night long. You’d have to see it, to see it--a miracle--it’s a miracle. In fact, when my mother was taking him home from the hospital, the nurses said, kind of sarcastically, "Good luck," kind of laughing. But, little did they know the cure that would happen with him. It is just fantastic! I can’t thank Our Lady enough.
When I first came here, I was a heavy smoker. I was a very nervous person, and I asked Our Lady to help me stop smoking. I told Her She could have my whole life, and I stopped smoking immediately. It was fantastic! I just couldn’t believe it! I haven’t smoked again in the past 15 years now since that happened.
I also have a scapular here that has turned blue. This is a scapular that was given to me by one of the workers at the Shrine. It was brown wool, and, little by little, it started to turn blue. So many things have happened from Our Lady. I am very, very grateful to Our Lady of the Roses.

I would like to give a testimonial. I was dying from a mobis, that is, a parasite in the intestines, and they had to take me to the hospital. Then my mom wrote to Bayside, New York, for rosaries, scapulars, and Rose Petals.
Then, when she got it, she went to hospital, and put me on a Rose Petal. In about two hours, I was cured. Today, I came out of the hospital. They gave me X-ray tests and everything, and they found not even a sign that I had mobis. So, Mom’s prayers were answered. I came out fine, thanks to Our Lady of the Roses.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
I was a professional actor and professional dancer from New York City. I became very, very ill. I had terrible, terrible headaches for 24 hours a day. I could barely get out of bed and barely walk. I felt my body gradually, gradually dying--getting weaker and weaker. Many doctors having CAT scans and X-rays and different tests--no one could find out what was really the matter with me. I kept getting sicker and sicker.
Well, it got to a point that I saw myself--if I remained in California--that I would have become a street person or literally would have died, because I couldn’t work and I really couldn’t support myself--from having a very active life out here. So, the curtain came down upon me.
I came back here to Connecticut, where my family is, and I happened to be in one of my times when I was watching television--very sick--and I saw the video of Bayside and Our Lady of the Roses, and heard about the miraculous Rose Petals that were curing many people here. I immediately became interested and wrote to Bayside and said, "I would like a Rose Petal." Well, they sent me Rose Petals, and my interest was peaked even more. I said I wanted to go to the Shrine. I contacted the local bus organizer.
I was very sick when I came on the bus to the Shrine. I was having terrible pains and feeling very weak and really very exhausted. I could barely move. Well, I came to the Shrine and I prayed to the Blessed Mother for a healing, so that I may be the person that I wanted to be and be the person that She wanted me to be, as I led a very sinful life in show business. I had fallen away from the Church for almost 30 years. I had come here, and although I didn’t receive an instantaneous cure, when I went home on the bus after that first evening, I said to myself, "I got through eight hours of coming on the bus and coming here." I kept building and building on that fact, that I was able to come to Bayside and to get through--to be able to use the little strength that I had to get here.
Well, I kept coming here and kept praying the rosary, as was requested, I prayed three rosaries a day--as the Blessed Mother has asked us to do. I kept coming to Bayside--I wasn’t able to work. About six months later, I went into a job that I had thought I would never be able to hold again--a job that was very, very precious. I had to answer phones for practically every two seconds. I thought I would never see myself working again. I literally had come to Connecticut to die.
I am not the person I was before I came to Bayside. I feel that this is a great grace, that the Blessed Mother ended my life there in Hollywood, and She brought me here 3000 miles--as far as you can go in the United States--and brought me to Her. I am very grateful for the cure that I received here. I am standing in front of you tonight after having been coming to Bayside and to Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers for almost three years now. I would ask that all who are ill, all who are lost, all that need help to reach out to Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers here at Bayside, because She gives out many, many different graces and many of Her mercies through Her love for Her Son, Jesus and the Eternal Father here at Bayside. I thank Our Lady of the Roses and give you this testimony that I have received here at Bayside. Thank you.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
A year ago, last July, I was diagnosed with cancer. They told me I had to have an operation. They took me up and put me in the holding room before they put me under. They found out that I was totally anemic and did not think they could do the operation. However, my gynecologist said without it I could possibly die. The anesthesiologist said he did not know whether or not they could go through with it, because I was so anemic. So, they gave me a couple of pints of whole blood, and they took me in. I did not know what the outcome was going to be.
They operated on me, and they took out a 7 lb. tumor, not counting water weight. They told my husband that the next 14 hours would be crucial and I could die. However, I did not know this, neither did my family. This was the first time that this was told to anyone. Needless to say, the next day when my husband came back, they told me what the doctor said, that I had ovarian cancer. I would have to have chemotherapy for 18 months. I did not have to stay in the hospital for 14 days as they said. I was home in three days.
I went to chemotherapy for six months. After the six months, they made me do a CAT scan. The CAT scan came back with dark spots at the bottom of the intestines. They told me they would have to have another look and see.
This past January, they did it all over again. They cut me open--I had two surgeons. They took all the intestines out, and they checked everything. When I woke up, the nurses were screaming at me, telling me that I had been cured. When they opened me up, they found out that there was nothing there. It never looked like I had cancer in my life.
During this whole time when I had the tumor, I would lay in bed, and I would place Our Lady of the Roses Petal taped on my stomach. I had done this the whole time I went through this trauma. All I can say is, "You have to have faith." They told me I am totally cured now. Just don’t lose the Faith. Have faith. Pray to Our Lady of the Roses--She’ll take care of you.

This letter is long overdue. I had a major surgery--abdominal hysterectomy. Prior to going to the hospital, I prayed that God would help me through the surgery, that everything would go well. And I also asked Our Blessed Virgin Mary--I placed the Rose Petal, blessed at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Roses, on my abdomen, as well.
Praise the Lord, after the surgery, I amazed all the nurses caring for me, because I had no need for pain medication. Repeatedly, I was questioned as to why I wasn’t using pain medication. I repeatedly answered, "Because I have no pain. I am quite comfortable." Friends and family who visited me in the hospital were more than a little surprised to see me sitting up in bed, laughing at their jokes, and sharing some of my hospital anecdotes with them. Looking no more uncomfortable, than if I had a mild indigestion. Quite truthfully, I had paper cuts that were more painful. And best of all, the biopsies came back clean--no cancer. After all, and finally, the coughing allergies that plagued me every autumn, did not occur at this most critical time of my surgery.
God truly blessed me and answered all my prayers beyond my expectations. So much so, that I feel compelled to let you know my story, and to remind everyone, once again, that God hears all our prayers, from the tiniest to the seemingly most impossible, and He answers with a love so powerful, that it is beyond all capabilities and understanding. All we need is to remember--is to love Him and to trust Him completely.

To Our Lady of the Roses:
I was doing some work for Our Lady. I guess it was my time to suffer, as it is for all of us during our lives. Well, I was hit head-on by a truck. I was on a motorcycle, going at a fairly good clip, and I arrived in the hospital with only my scapular and my rosary.
My leg was completely smashed. I had pieces of bone hanging out of my leg, and there was some on the road. Well, the doctors told me, at that particular time, that I might have 20 % use of my leg, if I had a leg at all.
Well, they put the thing in traction, into what they call a Hopkins tri-point. Well, then I was transferred to another hospital, and then another one. Then, I got gangrene, and they said my leg was going to have to be removed. So, during the surgery, I don’t know what happened, but apparently something happened. My leg was still on when I woke up.
Then, I was transferred to UCLA, because I had a severe bone infection. Then they said, "Well, I’m sorry, Guy, but this time the leg’s going to have to come off. We have no choice." Two weeks prior to that, they gave me what they call a Thompson scan, and this X-ray showed the inside of the bone. Well, the inside of my bone was as black as coal, which means that it was dying, so they were going to have to remove it. And, my other bone in my leg, the smaller one had not healed, which was also bad, because my break was in several parts of my leg.
Two weeks later, when I came back, they took another X-ray. All heck broke loose. Doctors were arguing amongst themselves--well, they got the wrong leg--this and that. Finally, a doctor came in and told me, "Well, I don’t know too much about miracles, but this is a miracle. But," he says, "this is sure one. And, this time," he said, "I don’t know how to explain this."
So, they had me back in UCLA Medical Center several times thereafter. My leg had been completely healed by Our Lord Jesus Christ through His Holy Mother--Our Mother, Our Queen. I give Her credit asking our God to heal my leg, because I myself could not do that, because I have not been too good in my life. But Our Holy Mother, through Her great love that She has for all of us--whether we be black, white, whatever--and we’re Her children. So it fits to ask Our Lord that my leg be all healed, in one piece. So, I got it--it is all healed. I also have my life, because they said I should have never survived that accident.

Dear Veronica,
I’ve been coming to Our Lady of the Roses Shrine for several years. A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. I had surgery and chemotherapy. I couldn’t continue chemotherapy, and the doctor sent a letter to my parents and said that I wasn’t going to make it.
I came to the Vigil. I got a Rose Petal and blessed rosary. I had reoccurrence of the cancer, and I wore the Rose Petal. I had another CAT scan. The CAT scan indicated that the cancer was gone. Now I am back here to give thanks to Our Lady of the Roses. I am so grateful to Our Lady, Mary Help of Mothers. The doctors were astonished that the cancer was gone, and they didn’t have any explanation. I wore the Rose Petal on my T-shirt, and I had it right next to me during the CAT scan. The first CAT scan picked up this cancer, and the second CAT scan indicated that the cancer was gone. That was about two months ago. The doctors reacted in disbelief. They told me they were more or less embarrassed that the examination indicated that there was nothing there. They looked at the X-rays and the CAT scans and the blood chemistry, and all of it indicated that it was gone. Thanks to Our Lady of the Roses.

Dear Veronica,
A lot has happened to me since I attended the Vigil. I returned to the Sacraments, my granddaughter was baptized. And now I have to tell you about my husband.
After I returned to the Sacraments, I prayed and asked my husband to return, too. Slowly, his resistance started to weaken. He would wear the medals, but not the scapular. Just when he was ready, satan would fight, and my husband would take off the medals and yell at me to stop praying the rosary. But thanks to Our Heavenly Mother, he now is saved.
He became ill and found out he had cancer, but still would not return. His excuse was that he couldn’t ask God to forgive him now when he was dying, since he would not ask His forgiveness before and had turned his back on God for so long. I kept placing the blessed Rose Petal on his chest, and praying my rosary beside his bed. I left the rosary on the night stand, and when I would return to visit again, the Rose Petal would be taped to the stand.
The morning of his death, they performed minor surgery. When he returned to his room, he helped me place a scapular, with the crucifix and medals attached, on him. I replaced the Rose Petal and prayed.
That evening, he took a turn for the worse. I called our parish priest. When Father came and introduced himself, my husband could not take his eyes from him and tried to talk. Father placed his ear close to my husband and listened to what he whispered, and then he absolved him. Then Father gave him the Last Rites and prayed very slowly, so that my husband could move his lips and follow along with us. Then Father held him close in his arms and comforted him. My husband looked more at peace then he had in four years.
Ten minutes after Father left, my husband had a peaceful death. The tears flowed not only for my loss, but from the great happiness knowing my husband’s soul was saved. Our dearest Mother promised if anyone died wearing Her scapular, they would not see the fires of hell. Thank you dearest Mother, my Queen, for giving us poor humans this grace. I keep thanking Our Lady of the Roses, Mary Help of Mothers for saving him and cheating satan of another soul. God bless you Veronica for helping me find my way back home. God bless all the workers for the love and help they give to spreading Our Lady’s Messages. Thank You.
